Easter Hare Hunt,
Mothecombe Gardens
Saturday 18th April | 10am–4pm
Celebrate the arrival of spring at Mothecombe Gardens with our Easter Hare Hunt, taking place over the last weekend of the school holidays, a perfect moment to get outdoors before term begins again. The gardens are alive with early-season colour: daffodils and tulips lifting the borders, primroses edging woodland paths, hellebores at their peak, and the first hints of blossom drifting through the valley, with wisteria just beginning to stir.
Families are warmly invited to take part in our playful Easter Hare Trail. Hidden throughout the gardens, a series of beautifully illustrated hares await discovery. Follow the clues through woodland walks, the walled garden, the bee garden and across sweeping lawns, and see if you can find them all. Each child that completes the trail will receive a small Easter treat to take home.
Along the way, pause to enjoy views down to the beach, breathe in the scent of early spring, and experience why Mothecombe was awarded RHS South West Partner Garden of the Year 2025, a recognition that reflects the garden at its most atmospheric and full of promise.
Do make time to visit our growing nursery, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of pollinator-friendly plants inspired by the gardens themselves. It’s an ideal opportunity to take home something special for spring containers, borders, or just because you felt inspired.
We’ll also be serving a selection of light lunches for the whole family, alongside delicious cakes and a range of hot and cold drinks.
Tickets: Standard garden admission, £6 per adult, £3 per child
Time: 10am–4pm
