Paperwhite Planting Workshop
Sunday 15th November
Join us for a relaxed and creative morning at Bee Verdant as we plant fragrant paperwhite bulbs in our signature hand-thrown scalloped terracotta bowls. Guided by our team, you'll create a beautiful festive planter using premium bulbs, peat-free compost and natural moss, before enjoying coffee and homemade cake from the Stable Kitchen. Whether you're making a seasonal centrepiece for your home or a thoughtful Christmas gift, you'll leave with a planter that will flower beautifully in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Tickets: £58 (All materials included.)
The Big Butterfly Count
This summer, Bee Verdant and Mothecombe Gardens are proud to support the Big Butterfly Count, the UK’s largest citizen science survey run by Butterfly Conservation.
From 17 July to 9 August, we will be open on our usual Tuesdays, welcoming visitors to take part in the count during their visit. Mothecombe Gardens is a recognised haven for butterflies, with pollinator-rich planting across the walled garden and bee garden providing ideal habitats throughout the summer months.
Visitors are invited to spend 15 minutes observing and recording the butterflies they see, contributing valuable data that helps track the health of butterfly populations across the UK. Participation is informal, self-guided, and suitable for all ages.
