Hyacinth Delft Blue
Hyacinth ‘Delft Blue’
A classic, richly scented hyacinth for Christmas and early spring.
Hyacinth ‘Delft Blue’ is a timeless variety, producing dense flower spikes in a beautiful soft porcelain blue. Intensely fragrant and wonderfully nostalgic, it’s perfect for bringing colour and scent into the house during the darkest months of the year.
These prepared bulbs are ideal for forcing indoors and can be planted in autumn for a beautiful winter display. Plant them individually in a favourite pot or group several together in a bowl for a more generous show, particularly lovely on a kitchen table, windowsill or mantelpiece.
After planting, keep the bulbs somewhere cool and dark while they establish. Once the shoots are well developed, gradually bring them into the light and warmth. Keeping them somewhere relatively cool once flowering will help the blooms last longer.
After flowering indoors, the bulbs can be planted out in the garden, where they can settle in and flower again in future springs.
Planting: Autumn
Flowering: Christmas and winter indoors when planted and timed correctly; spring outdoors
Colour: Porcelain blue
Scent: Intensely fragrant
Position: Bright and cool indoors; sun or partial shade outdoors
Quantity = 3 bulbs
